“In the British era there was common use of robust steel structures, with bridges, railways, and warehouses abounding the empire. They came to lack popularity when a newly independent nation had to balance infrastructures and costs.
However, the unaddressed demand remained. The earthquakes that came upon this delta on a fault line and cost lives due to the inflexibility of concrete brought to the forefront again, the need for steel — and this time not just for building, but for protecting.
With the demand recognized and government support received, MSBPL in the late 1990s became the pioneer of pre-fabricated steel structures in Bangladesh. Receiving import support from BlueScope Steel (then BHP Australia), our journey slowly but surely expanded to more complicated projects: railways, infrastructure development, defense, and aviation.
Our management policy has never wavered from the founding principles of conviction, honesty, and sincerity. Today, with our prestigious joint venture partner Nippon Steel Trading, we continue our commitment to build a safer, structurally sound Bangladesh.”
